I think community service is important because it always feels great to help others and it also helps people that are less fortunate than others. I also want others to be able to do things that I do. Community service also helps animals and other living creatures to help them survive. You can help by picking up any trash you see so you can help the world be a much better place too!
My favorite community service work has been getting money for UNICEF because I loved seeing the people running to get money to help. After it happened, I was excited that we earned more than 100 dollars to help other people.
I am most looking forward to helping children because I love seeing happy faces when people receive their gifts. I also have more than 20 books to give to people less fortunate than us. I also think this will be as much fun as getting money for UNICEF.
After doing community service , I feel amazing and special to be helping others so they can do things that I can do. It also feels like helping every body in the world.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ October Community Service *Goals-Helping Children*
For my October goals, I am hoping to donate more than 20 books to other people who need some books and who want to read. I am also hoping to earn money from making a lemonade stand so people can buy things for what they need. Another idea is to donate old clothes and make cards for hospitals.
This month, for my community service work, I helped pack games and clothes to donate to Cradles To Crayons. Cradles To Crayons is an organization that helps mostly children who need items such as clothes, books, games and much more. In my photos, you can see me organizing different games, and making sure that all the pieces are in the game. If not all pieces are in the game, you give it to GoodWill. GoodWill is another organization that collects items for people of all ages. I really enjoyed this month's community service work because it was fun packing games and clothes for other people, not just me. Cradles To Crayons was new for me because I had never gone to an event with so much activity. Sorting clothes also made me realize that everyone is important, even if you are not as wealthy as everyone else. I really enjoyed this month's community service, and I can't wait to do this again! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- November Community Service *Goals-Helping The Environment*
My goal for the month is to walk to my cello lesson instead of driving, like I usually do.
I would like to plant a tree or a flower.
This month, for my community service work, I walked to my cello lesson instead of driving there. My cello teacher's house is not that far away from my house, so it was fun to go outside and get some fresh air. The weather was not that cold, so I had a great time helping the environment by not polluting the air. In my photo, you can see me getting ready to walk to my cello teacher's house with my dad. I really enjoyed this month's community service work because it was very fun to walk to my cello lesson, and it was good to get some exercise. It was new for me, and I can't wait to do it again, and to help the environment. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- December Community Service *Goals- Helping Families/Adults*
Bake cookies for a local fire/police station
Visit http://freerice.com and learn while donating rice to people in developing countries.
Collect canned food, warm clothing, toys, or personal care items (combs, tooth brushes, shampoo, ext.) Deliver to local homeless shelter.
This month, for my community service work, I baked and delivered some chocolate chip cookies to one of my neighbors, who is a senior. She recovered from a serious ilness this year. My neighbor lives by herself and has a dog. In my photos, you can see me baking cookies and putting them in a bag. I really enjoyed this month's community service because I love baking, and it was fun to help my neighbor who had a hard year. This was not new for me because I baked cookies for a family friend last year, and I would DEFINITELY do it again!
I donated clothes to Goodwill
I danced at North Hill Senior Living Community (December 30th, 2012)
I visited freerice.com, and donated over 1,000 grains of rice!

Collect food at school (make posters) and donate it to the pet shelter in Hopkinton with Torin!
This month for community service work, Torin and I collected dog and cat goods at school. We brought them to an animal shelter named the Baypath Humane Society that is located in Hopkinton. We collected goods like cat/dog food, sheets, rubber toys, and sponges. By the end of the month, Torin and I had collected one whole bag of animal things to donate to amazing animals. The animal shelter was small, but very cozy for the animals. When we were at the animal shelter, we saw a whole cage filled with cats and kittens from top to bottom. Everywhere we looked, there was a kitten or a cat somewhere. Torin and I also saw large and small dogs. The beagle in the last picture barked and growled a lot. It was funny. In my photos, you can see Torin and I in front of the animal shelter holding the goods that we collected. All the rest of the pictures were of the animals we saw. I really enjoyed this month's community service work because I loved seeing all the animals, being able to help animals that need help, and doing it with one of my best friends! This was not that new because I have been to an animal shelter, but have never brought things to donate to animals in need. If I could do this again, I would definitely do this again! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- February/March Community Service *Goals-Helping Seniors*
Make something or do something for a family friend who is a senior
This month for community service work, I helped make a lunch for two of my neighbors who are seniors. My mom and I made mashed potatoes, chicken pot-pie, and mixed vegetables. In my photos, you can see me peeling the potatoes for the mashed potatoes. I really enjoyed this month's community service because it was fun to do something I have never done before. It was fun to have people that I knew over to enjoy the yummy lunch. My favorite part was making the food, and hearing people tell me that it was really yummy. I have never done this before and I would really enjoy doing this again!
I donated seven bags of books to Reach Out And Read at Children's Hospital in Boston.
I also donated books to the same people I had made lunch for so they can read them to their grandchildren.
