I think community service is important because you help people and animals in need. You can donate money, clothes, school supplies, and many other things.
My favorite community service work was when I donated food, water, and blankets to an animal shelter. That was really fun and it felt good to help the animals.
For the month of October, I helped collect money for UNICEF. In the photo, you can see me with my UNICEF box the day after Halloween. I have collected money for UNICEF for many years. I plan to do this again next Halloween.

This month I rode my bike instead of using a car to save gas. I also helped my family recycle paper goods. It felt good to help keep the environment clean. ...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... This month I donated some of my Christmas gift money to Heifer International. Heifer provides animals and training to people in need around the world. The hope is to end hunger. Some of the animals given to families include chicks, sheep, pigs, buffalo, and cows.

This month I baked dog treats to bring to the Animal Rescue League in Dedham. My dog Lulu was the dog treat quality control tester. In addition to the treats we brought blankets, towels, and bones. I got to meet 4 of the dogs and give them my treats. This was my favorite dog. He really liked the biscuits and wagged his tail a lot.
